A rare steel flint-hammer. Headsize 18 cm, total length 23 cm. This type of hammer was used to produce small pieces of flint that could be inserted in flint-lock pistols and musquets. The sturdy all iron hammer has a vague touch mark on the stem. Excellent condition. Probably Dutch, late 16th C.
