An oakwood box. Measuring 28,5 x 16 x 10 cm. On all sides decorated with Frisian kerbschnitt of superb quality. On the lid the text : "NEELTJE STEEVENS 1690". This girls family lived in Harlingen in Friesland. She was called after her grandmother Neeltje. Her grandfather was Joost Steevens. Probably this box was made on the occasion of their granddaughters birth. The box is in mint condition and extremely rare.
