A knife with boxwood handle and a silver ferrule. Overall length 35 cm, length of the handle 11 cm, length of the ferrule 2 cm. The very detailed carvings show two horses on top, above a cage containing a little ball. In front a swan and all around the tools of the farmer. This high quality knife is typical for the art of decoration on the island of Walcheren and the town of Oost-Souburg around the middle of the 19th C.
