An early seventeenth century Delft blue tile with a Dutch proverb.

A Delft blue tile. Size 13 x 13 cm. Thickness 10 mm. The tile shows a man with in his right hand his hat. This refers to a Dutch proverb : " with your hat in your hand you can travel the entire land ". In other words: politeness always brings you far. This rare tile is in perfect condition and has unusual "oxen-head"-corner decorations. It was made in Holland around 1650.
