An oak bible-box. Size: 45 x 29 x 19 cm. Decorated with high quality "Kerbschnitt" panels, roses, tulips, pomegrenades and the coat of arms of the cities of Hoorn, Medemblik and Enkhuizen. The decorations are very similar to the ones found on mangle boards and boxes from Friesland. This box is as far as we know the only one in existence. It was most likely made in the second half of the 17th century.
