A 19th C painted schoolbox with a windmill from Friesland.

A Frisian schoolbox. Height 43 cm, width 22 cm, depth 8 cm. Painted with a windmill and on the border typical rose-like decorations. This type of box was often made in IJlst. On the inside the names of its owners and the dates 1870 and 1873. Also along with a booklet with a christian text and dated 1881. In very good condition, no restorations.
