A painted beechwood box. Wide 46 cm. Deep 28,5 cm. High  22 cm. On the lid a bird, most likely a snipe. On the sides numerous round objects, possibly flowers and branches with red berries. The type of wood and the rare decoration point to a very early product of the home industry in Thüringen in Southern Germany. The box is in a mint condition and was made around 1700.
