A lace-measure. Overall length 23,5 cm. Measuring part 18,5 cm. Made of very delicately turned ebony, inlaid with silver and with an ivory end. This type of measure, a quarter of a Dutch ell, was made for and bought by rich ladies for measuring lace. Low Countries, 18th C.
