A 17th C Delft blue tile with a scared hare.

A Delft blue tile. Measuring 13 x 13 cm. Thickness 10 mm. Decorated with a running hare. The hare apparently is chased and looks back frightened. In Dutch a standing expression for a frightened person is "angsthaas", or "scared hare". Holland, around 1650.
