An 18th C oval painted German wedding box.

An oval painted box. Wide 48cm, height 21 cm. On the lid a man and a lady. Around them the text: "Ach wie wird mein Schätzchen lachen, wenn wir beide Hochzeit machen" (Ach how will my dearest happily laugh when we are going to be married). The box is very rich in decoration and patina. Both box and lid have the original height. There are a few minor repairs. Southern Germany, second half 18th C.
