An 18th C. Dutch hollow plane in pristine condition marked "CVV".

Ref.:
p

A beech plane. Length overall 18 cm. With original wedge and iron. Nice "cupids bow" and carved side decorations. On the side the owners initials  "CVV" and also repeated on the front ledge. The iron stamped "K" (see van der Sterre page 248). The plane has the typical Dutch front curl making it look like a whale. The hollow shape made it especially fit for shipbuilders. Apart from old, inactive worm holes, the plane is in mint condition, no damages, no repairs and was made around 1750.
