A very decorative wrought iron and painted lock plate with initials and dated 1784.

A lock plate. High 30 cm, wide 18 cm. Made of wrought iron the plate with a very decorative shape has eight holes for fixation. It is painted red and gold. Above the initials: "AMDB". Below the date: "1784". Interestingly the "4" has been inserted separately, probably making this plate took longer than expected. Mint condition. Low Countries, 18th Century.
