A rare Delft blue 16th C. tile with a chinese garden.

A Delft blue tile. Size: 13,5 x 13,5 cm. Thickness 14 mm. With "Wanli" corner decorations and "accolade" shaped middle field showing a Chinese garden. In the very beginning of the production of ceramics in Delft, decorations from imported Chinese porcelain were copied quite regularly. This tile dates from the last quarter of the 16th century.
